Chagdud Rinpoche often said that the goal of authentic spiritual practice is to cultivate a ‘bodhisattva heart’. A bodhisattva is someone who has made it their sole mission to respond to the needs of others, however difficult that may be. By cultivating our inherent qualities of love and compassion, we can give rise to ‘bodhicitta’, the awakened mind of wisdom and compassion, the source of all positive qualities.
‘Compassion in Action: a Peace Training’, developed by Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, and brought to us by Lama Tsering Everest, offers profound and transformative methods for cultivating this bodhisattva heart and fostering compassion in the face of adversity.
The weekend will include a series of teachings as well as group discussions and exercises through which we will learn how to mature our potential as human beings and thus become agents of change and peace in our professions, families and social circles.
Who is Lama Tsering Everest
Lama Tséring is a teacher of Tibetan Buddhism in the Nyingma tradition.
Born in the United States, Lama Tsering Everest was trained by Chagdud Tulku Rinpoché, one of the greatest Tibetan Buddhist masters of the 20th century. She served as his translator for more than 11 years. After completing a three-year retreat in 1995, she was ordained as a lama and recognized by Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche as a lineage holder of Red Tara, authorized to give teachings and empowerments. That same year, she was invited to teach in Brazil, where she soon settled. She currently directs the Odsal Ling temple in São Paulo.
In addition, she teaches and leads retreats in many cities throughout Brazil, Chile, New Zealand, the United States, Australia, and Europe.
